Heat Problems?
Stay HYDRATED!!
Remember Sodas and Alcohol do not help with fluid intake.
These fluids actually and take more fluid out of the body.
Drink Water and Electrolyte drinks to stay Hyrdrated.
Sweating is your body's way of cooling off, if you stop
sweating your body starts to increase in body temperature.
Some of the Signs of Dehyrdation:
stopped sweating
hot skin
Headache, Weakness
Muscle cramping, weakness
dry lips, skin
nausea, seizures
Ways to help stay cool during the HOT days:
Wear lightcolored, loose-fitting clothes.
Drink more water, if you know you are going to be out side tomorrow,
drink more water today!
Eat small meals
REMEMBER YOUR PETS!
Taking care of Persons suffering from Heat Emergencies
Move person out of the area and into cool location
This can include into indoors or shade
Cool the person:
this can be done with misting fan
apply ive packs to neck, groin and arm pits
If the person can, have them drink water type fluids.
If you are in doubt of type of care to give the person,
DIAL 911 !!!
